Pricing - employees

Our approach to pricing is based on three core principles:

Simple

Our approach is easy to understand. Whatever basis we agree for charging and paying for our services, there are no complicated fee structures, conditions or caveats.

Transparent

We will set out in writing the scope of support we have been asked to give and agree with you the cost (or estimated cost) of that work in advance. Where the scope changes or additional work is required out of scope, we will explain why and seek approval before continuing.

Certain

We understand that legal spend needs to be managed. Our approach allows you to budget with confidence.

Yes, we have hourly rates. Some clients prefer them and we think they give a useful market comparison to other firms.

But we are not wedded to them. We believe that legal costs should reflect the value and output of our advice, not the time input.

We are always open to offering a fixed-fee or capped fee for specific projects or tasks. We keep these arrangements under periodic review, to ensure they are working for you and us.

As a guiding principle, our standard hourly rates (excluding VAT) are £400 - £595 for a Partners and Consultants and £350 for a Senior Associate. However, these will vary from case to case, depending on: (a) the experience of the lawyer advising your business; (b) the complexity of the legal and practical issues; and (c) time sensitivity.

In very limited cases we can consider operating on a “no win no fee” arrangement or charge a “success fee” based on the outcome of your case.
