Staff handbooks

Staff Handbooks

The staff handbook should sit alongside and compliment the contract of employment

Our view is that it should be non-contractual so that as employment laws change, you are able to update and modify your policies without having to obtain the consent of your staff.

There are numerous policies/topics your staff handbook can cover from your internal rules regarding timekeeping through to detailed policies on shared parental leave.

It’s usual for a staff handbook to cover the basic minimum policies of disciplinary , grievance , family friendly (maternity, flexible working etc), data protection and diversity. However, the handbook can be used to go further and provide for other situations/impose other rules and procedures to suit your business, such as; IT/email usage, social media policies, sickness absence, training and development etc.

We would be happy to review your contract based on the time taken at our hourly rate. However, we do also offer a fixed fee service for a full document review which covers your employment related documents and policies. Click here for more details.
