Contracts of employment

Contracts of Employment

The law requires you to provide certain written information to your staff. However, this basic detail is all for the employee’s protection not yours.

In our view, the contract of employment is your opportunity to protect your business. You should add clauses that afford you protection. This includes:

  • the right to make deductions for which you need the employee’s express agreement (i.e. in writing and signed);
  • dealing with GDPR;
  • imposing restrictive covenants
  • detailing what happens to your confidential information; and
  • protecting things like inventions and discoveries.

We would be happy to review your contract based on the time taken at our hourly rate. However, we do also offer a fixed fee service for a full document review which covers your employment related documents and policies. Click here for more details.

If you are considering a review of your contracts of employment, our specialist employment law solicitors are on hand to help you.
